What Is a Provisional Registration?

A provisional registration is one in which a registration is temporary.  It is intended to become a regular registration after a certain period of time IF specific conditions are met.  If this does not happen and on time, the registration is canceled.  This type of registration is issued by the Council to those candidates who are undergoing a one-year internship via the Foreign Medical Qualification.  A provisional registration of this kind is permitted in Vanuatu.  We will now discuss the documents required for this.

Application Form

The first thing you will need is a basic application form.  On this form must include information about the yacht or ship to be registered.  Examples are description of the vessel with all pertinent details, documents proving ownership of the vessel and relevant financial information.

To Be Included Along with the Application Form

Whomever is registering this vessel must provide a declaration on behalf of its owner.  This declaration should state that the owner has returned all documents issued by its prior registry to that country’s government.  It must be expressly understood that any markings on this vessel will be changed in accordance with the rules.  These rules state that any markings on the yacht or ship reflect its presence in Vanuatu.

Other Required Documentation

Due prior to registration is a report of the vessel’s officers.  It ought to be in the form of a list and include their names, citizenship, any foreign licensing information and license information for Vanuatu.  This information needs to convey the details of all officers who will be serving on the vessel.

Radio License Application for this yacht or ship is also a requirement, as is the Power of Attorney document, a corporate resolution document, proof of ownership, and proof that there are no liens against the vessel.
